We are accustomed to sitting round a fire and watching as the flames dance upwards, but now that's about to change. xeoos has launched the TwinFire, a contemporary and stylishly designed wood burning stove where the flames don't go up the chimney but are drawn downwards into a visible bottom fire chamber.
Not only does this make for an impressive and unique focal-piece to any room but the TwinFire boasts an efficiency rate of 93%, making it one of the World's most environmentally-friendly stoves.
Consisting of two fire chambers, one on top of the other, the TwinFire provides fast regulation of heat output and easy operation. Initially, the fire burns in the top chamber but once enough blaze has built up the TwinFire-Starter comes into play, opening up the chimney haul and pulling down the smoulder gas through the hot blaze centre situated at the bottom of the stove. By drawing the gases downwards into the base chamber before exiting through the chimney, the flue gasses are effectively burnt off resulting in microscopic emissions.
The TwinFire has been designed so the glass doors don't need constant cleaning and are kept free of soot. This is achieved as the glass in both the firing chambers are flooded with fresh air, ensuring that the exhaust gases are kept within this fresh air veil, having no contact with the glass.
xeoos TwinFire is available in 5 kwatt and 8kwatt models and comes in a range of wrappings and casings.

From 1 April 2009, Gas Safe Register replaced the CORGI gas registration scheme in Great Britain, and launches a campaign to make the nation gas safe. New research from Gas Safe Register reveals that when it comes to gas safety, Brits are far too trusting.
Alarmingly, over half of Great Britain’s population said they took it on trust that their gas engineer was properly registered and never checked that they were. A trust which if broken can make the difference between life and death.
With 14 people dying from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning last year due to badly installed, repaired and maintained gas appliances, keeping the public safe is Gas Safe Register’s top priority. The ‘make Britain gas safe’ message is simple. Be safe, use a registered engineer and always check the card.
